Backyard Kids Water Activities – Have fun in the sun.

Summer’s here, and it’s going to be a scorcher. Don’t worry, you don’t have to keep the kids inside. There are many backyard kids water activities that will keep them cool as a cucumber. Before you let the little ones outside, don’t forget to apply a good waterproof sunblock.

Of course the best way to stay cool, besides sitting in a bucket of ice, is to go for a swim. Many people own a swimming pool. We could always go hang out at their place (problem solved) or we could think about buying one of our own. While most in-ground and above ground pools are expensive and take up a lot of space, there are also other options. There are many inflatable above ground pools or kiddie pools that are very reasonably priced.

When looking at purchasing anything, pools included, it’s always best to look at cost per use instead of the overall cost. For example, if you buy a pool and use it every day, then your cost per use would be very low and may even save you money because the kids are having fun and are occupied and you won’t have to pay for other expensive activities.

One of the best ways to have fun and stay cool are water guns. I know you’ll be screaming; No – not in the house – get outside with those. But there is nothing that will quite bring a family together more than a good, old-fashioned water gun fight.

There are some really cool looking water sprinklers on
the market. All you need is a garden hose to hook into them. You can turn your backyard into a mini water park.

Something as simple as water balloons can give kids hours of fun. Just leave a bunch of kids with a bucket full of water balloons and let the screaming begin. Hello water fight.

There are also some amazing inflatable water toys on the market. They come in many prices points depending on weight and durability. If you have a lot of children playing on it or you want it to last many years you may want to invest in an industrial strength model.

No matter what activities you decide to do just remember that you already have the basics covered. You have the backyard and you have the Sun – so now the only thing you have to do is get the kids outside to have the Fun.
